"It's a String Thing" #116

It's Tuesday, your good news day!

This Saturday is All Hallows' Eve, or Halloween as we celebrate it here in the States.
Along with all things spooky, it is also packed with candy, candy, and more candy.

One of the most noted sweets of the season is candy corn - or cannie corns as my children dubbed them in their adorable toddler days.  As a matter of fact, October 30 is National Candy Corn Day.

Since we tangled a challenge in celebration of it last year, let's start a tradition and do the same this year.

To begin we will revisit TanglePatterns String 095 by Sandra Hart ~

This time, we will use tangles that begin with the letter "C".  They include:

Chartz and
Cadent both by Maria Thomas, Zentangle® co-founder
Cracked by Lori Howe
Confettus by Angie Shade

There is a nice balance here ~ bold, light, wispy...use as many or as few as you wish.

While the string lines resemble candy corn, your end result is not meant to look like any one thing in particular - tangles are non-representational.
On the other hand, Zentangle Inspired Art often is representational, so please feel free to do either.
For my readers from other lands, here is a photograph of candy corn and a few candy corn themed things...

Step outs for the patterns can be found by clicking their names above and/or TanglePatterns.

Simply pencil the string line onto your tile and tangle away! Keep in mind that string lines are suggestions and let the patterns lead the way.
